Cumberland County Arrest History
Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, Neoga Police, Greenup Police, Toledo authorities, and Illinois State Police may each create arrest or incident records. The investigating agency owns its report. If detention follows, the Cumberland County Jail creates a separate booking file. The Circuit Clerk only becomes the court custodian after charges are filed.
An arrest history records police or booking events, not a finding of guilt. It may include an event that produced no filed charge, ended in dismissal, or led to acquittal. Dates and charges can also change between the police report, jail intake, and court docket. Match each document to its source.

Looking Up Cumberland County Arrests
Use every relevant channel because no database combines the incident, booking, court, and state conviction record. Begin with the closest custodian, then move outward.
- Call the Cumberland jail for current county custody. There is no official online roster to check first.
- Ask the arresting agency for its incident or arrest report. A Neoga or Greenup police narrative does not move to the sheriff merely because the jail booked the person.

Cumberland's 72-Hour Arrest Rule
5 ILCS 140/2.15 requires specified chronological arrest information as soon as practical and no later than 72 hours after arrest. The covered facts include identity details, charges, arrest time and location, investigating or arresting agency, and custody receipt, discharge, or transfer times. A photograph is included when and if available.
The rule does not make every narrative, witness statement, recording, or investigative lead public. Section 7 exemptions can protect material when release would interfere with an active proceeding, expose confidential sources, reveal protected victim or juvenile facts, or create security risks.
Booking Logs and Recent Arrests
Cumberland County does not publish an official recent-arrest blotter or online booking log. The verified route is the jail phone for present custody and a written request to the arresting agency for arrest facts or reports. Do not rely on commercial mugshot galleries or people-search sites as substitutes for an official record.
Absence from a roster would not prove no arrest even if one existed. People may be released, transferred, taken directly to another facility, or never booked into this jail. The 30-bed county facility can also house people for other counties, so detention in Toledo does not by itself establish a Cumberland prosecution.

For noncommercial requests, Illinois FOIA generally gives an agency five business days to respond, with a written extension of up to five more business days for listed reasons. A response may produce records, cite an exemption, seek clarification, or explain more time. FOIA does not require an agency to answer questions or create a new report.
The first 50 black-and-white letter or legal pages are generally free under state law, with up to $0.15 per added page. Cumberland has not published Sheriff-specific certification or copy charges, so confirm costs before ordering. Send 911 audio or CAD requests to the separate Cumberland County 911 custodian.
Cumberland Arrest Custody Versus IDOC
The Cumberland jail holds local pretrial and short-term custody. IDOC tracks people serving state sentences, with public categories such as name, IDOC number, location or status, vital statistics, admission and release dates, and sentencing data. Former IDOC profiles may disappear after a completed sentence. An archived IDOC request may need full name, birth date, approximate receipt year, and known facility or county details.
Cumberland Arrests and ISP Crashes
For a crash investigated by Illinois State Police, the official ePay crash-report route is separate from a Cumberland arrest or booking request. It costs $5 plus the ePay fee and only covers ISP-investigated crashes. City police crash records stay with that city or its stated vendor channel.

Cumberland Arrests Are Not Convictions
An arrest record starts with law enforcement and may continue into booking. A conviction requires a court judgment. ISP's public CHIRP response focuses on Illinois conviction information, so it may omit a local nonconviction arrest that still exists with police, jail, or court custodians.
